Luke & Elise - Destination Wedding

Elise grew up spending her summers in the shadow of the Big Horn Mountains while visiting family near Sheridan, WY. When it came time to plan a wedding and future with Luke, saying “I DO” in a personal and meaningful spot was only natural.

They planned an intimate wedding weekend with their nearest and dearest -just 43 people - to celebrate their union. Surrounded by their family and friends, they hosted a creekside ceremony under the trees.

Sheridan, WY-based wedding photographer, Cassie Madden Photography, captured the entire day and all of the magic.

In lieu of a traditional wedding party, their three dogs joined the wedding and wore floral collars in tones to match Elise’s bouquet in lavender, peach, and orange.

Every element of their wedding was individualized and they chose their personal favorite colors for the wedding. Orange for Luke, Purple for Elise. We blended the two colors together using peach and lavender tones. Elise preferred a bouquet that was more formal and less wild so we opted for less greenery, lots of roses, and a few delicate elements to bring in a wildflower feeling like purple asters, lavender Limonium, and peach hypericum.

Rather than bringing in another element for their ceremony along the creek, we used the trees as a base for our ceremony arbor. Their wedding arch on the tree flowed up the trunk and over their heads and was full of roses and deep purple delphinium. This piece was created and built on-site using a chickenwire base stuffed with meadowgrass and simply wired to the tree. For my florist friends out there - no floral foam was used!

Using their love of food and wine as a guide, they planned a 5-course tasting dinner with Travis Sorenson, chef at Birch, complete with wine pairings at the lovely Barn in Big Horn. This was the perfect reception venue for their intimate party and an evening of lawn games and celebrating.

To allow for conversation and visibility across their large, horseshoe-shaped table, we used a collection of hand-thrown pottery vases scattered down the table. Their bar was accented by a tall and dramatic elevated floral piece.

Jackson Hole wedding in June

Destination bride and groom in Jackson Hole, WY. Groom in a navy suit and bride in flower crown.

Paige & Luke

Sometimes wedding plans change, and your family ranch wedding in August makes a move to Jackson Hole in June. You get to have peonies in your bouquets and the majestic Tetons in your wedding pictures. Winning all around. Regardless of your wedding destination, you can’t lose in Wyoming.

The Bride wore an A-line dress by DAALARNA with spaghetti straps and delicate details while the groom wore a navy suit. The bridesmaids wore their choice of style and color in dusty rose, blush and, mauve from Azazie.

The bride requested a lush flower crown to wear for the day and we filled it with blush spray roses, delicate ranunculus, tiny waxflower, and blushing bride protea to coordinate with the groom’s boutonnière.

Paige and Luke chose to have a first look at their ceremony location followed by a mid-day adventure with their bridal party for portraits with the Teton’s and the famous T.A. Moulton Barn on Mormon Row.

They returned to Snow King in Jackson Hole for an afternoon ceremony with their family and friends in front of a circle arch with flowers in blush and ivory. The aisle was marked with wooden pillars topped with lanterns and simple bunches in blush attached to the chairs.

We used their bouquets as decor for their head table - you’d never know they’d been out and about all day in the sun and still looked stunning for their reception that evening. We added flowers to their three-layer naked cake instead of traditional toppers.

Congratulations!!

A boho wedding at the Brinton Museum

August Boho Wedding

Look no further if you’re inspired by Romantic, Boho, and Semi-Formal vibes in neutral, taupe shades and soft mauve tones.

The ladies wore mixed dresses from Revelry in styles & colors of their choosing. The men wore simple white shirts and mauve ties.

Their August wedding at the Brinton Museum was full of details crafted by family and friends and Captured by For the West & Wild Photography

The talented Dan Lee created a custom, hand-drawn welcome sign for their wedding. A boho rug in taupe tones anchored their ceremony spot under the towering trees on the lawn. A single, triangle-shaped mountain arch with two floral pieces set the stage for “I do’s” and was a great photo backdrop.

Everyone loves a good dog at a wedding.

Amanda from Manny Cakes brought the sweets, including a gorgeous cake with gold leaf, flowers, and assorted cookies.

We kept their reception decor simple and classy with boho touches. They provided candles and gold geometric pieces, while Whirly Girl Flowers added trailing loose greenery and farm-house pottery-inspired bud vases with luxe roses.

The bridal party bouquets were repurposed for their head table and provided a lush look.

The bride requested dried pampas grass and neutral flowers with muted pops of purple. The amnesia roses were the perfect shade to bring the vision to life.

Congratulations!
