Lavender + Succulent Wedding in September

Paige & Brad

These sweethearts planned a fun and relaxed day at the Brinton Museum to celebrate their connection and love. She wore a dress from Emma & Grace of Denver, CO, and her maids each chose a different dress in mismatched mauve, purple and pink tones.

Cassie Madden captured all the details in white, lavender and dark green.

Luke & Elise - Destination Wedding

Elise grew up spending her summers in the shadow of the Big Horn Mountains while visiting family near Sheridan, WY. When it came time to plan a wedding and future with Luke, saying “I DO” in a personal and meaningful spot was only natural.

They planned an intimate wedding weekend with their nearest and dearest -just 43 people - to celebrate their union. Surrounded by their family and friends, they hosted a creekside ceremony under the trees.

Sheridan, WY-based wedding photographer, Cassie Madden Photography, captured the entire day and all of the magic.

In lieu of a traditional wedding party, their three dogs joined the wedding and wore floral collars in tones to match Elise’s bouquet in lavender, peach, and orange.

Every element of their wedding was individualized and they chose their personal favorite colors for the wedding. Orange for Luke, Purple for Elise. We blended the two colors together using peach and lavender tones. Elise preferred a bouquet that was more formal and less wild so we opted for less greenery, lots of roses, and a few delicate elements to bring in a wildflower feeling like purple asters, lavender Limonium, and peach hypericum.

Rather than bringing in another element for their ceremony along the creek, we used the trees as a base for our ceremony arbor. Their wedding arch on the tree flowed up the trunk and over their heads and was full of roses and deep purple delphinium. This piece was created and built on-site using a chickenwire base stuffed with meadowgrass and simply wired to the tree. For my florist friends out there - no floral foam was used!

Using their love of food and wine as a guide, they planned a 5-course tasting dinner with Travis Sorenson, chef at Birch, complete with wine pairings at the lovely Barn in Big Horn. This was the perfect reception venue for their intimate party and an evening of lawn games and celebrating.

To allow for conversation and visibility across their large, horseshoe-shaped table, we used a collection of hand-thrown pottery vases scattered down the table. Their bar was accented by a tall and dramatic elevated floral piece.

A Long Love at Eaton's Ranch

Ginger and Todd love Wyoming and after years of vacationing here, they made the leap and moved last year. They decided to tie the knot at the historic Eaton’s Ranch with a weekend long celebration surrounded by family and friends. We planned on a long farm table decorated with a flower studded garland and a traditional round bouquet full of ruffled peonies and roses in shades of purple for the ladies.

I made a few cuff corsages with deep purple ranunculus and a traditional white rose boutonniere for the groom with a touch of lavender - a nod to their long time home in the midwest near a lavender farm.

Ginger requested traditional round bouquets in shades of white, lavender and purple with minimal greenery. It was a fun change from my wild and loose greenery bouquets and I LOVED them. For the bride I used pure white peonies grown in Colorado, white freesia, lavender roses and hellebores.

For their dinner in Howard Hall we lined the long table with garland and studded it with roses for dinner. The Cake Chix brought a gorgeous naked cake that we added greenery and a few flowers to along with their custom made spurs! We draped the old rock mantle with more greenery and a few small rose arrangements for a pop of color.

A prairie meets mountain wedding

These two grew up in Sheridan but fell in love while living on the East Coast. They came home for a celebration with their families and friends for a late summer wedding with a mountain and prairie theme. With lavender and dried prairies grass as our color scheme, I had free reign to bring in all the lovely textures August has to offer.

It was a treat to wander a piece of property owned by the bride's family and pick native grasses and other local greenery to mix into her bouquet. In all, the bridal bouquet featured over 20 different flowers, grasses and other greenery including lisianthus, Sahara roses and eucalyptus.

They hosted a sweet ceremony on the Polo Fields at the Big Horn Equestrian Center followed by dinner and dancing under the lights. Even with the heavy wildfire smoke in the background the day was a beauty.
