The Whirly Way (& What to Expect)

Congratulations!

Captured by Cassie Madden Photography

Planning a wedding is a big undertaking, not something most people do daily. Amidst the joy and excitement of engagement, dozens of decisions and choices exist. From the small to the large, you’re trying to bring everything together to shape your best day and the beginning of a new life with the one you love.

I intend to make the flower portion of planning easy, stress-free, and of course, deliver a gorgeous final product on your wedding day. Whether you’re planning an intimate elopement or a giant party, I’d love to be a part of your celebration.

Choose your adventure (& I’ll bring the flowers):

Whirly Weddings

As a full-service wedding and event design studio, we specialize in handcrafting emotive arrangements and installations for celebrations of all sizes. From grand weddings to intimate gatherings, we have the expertise, knowledge and contagious artistic expression to bring your flower dreams to fruition. If you know wholeheartedly that your forever is written in flowers, we may just be the perfect fit for one another.

Elopements & Micro Weddings

As a Wyoming florist, we love nothing more than when our couples vow to run away together, flowers in tow! All of our elopement and micro wedding floral packages are inspired by the season, your color palette, and the feel of the day. This package is a “Yes, please” option for couples who are planning a simple yet adventurous gathering, working with a modest budget, and/or trust me to bring their vision vibrantly to life just as they deserve.

Here’s what to expect:

Step 1. You Freak Over my Art

If you’ve found yourself saving our Instagram posts, daydreaming about the Portfolio, and telling your girlfriends about Whirly Girl, this may be your sign that we’re soulmates. Don’t worry; we’re freaking out about it too!

Step 2. Flower Talk

Fill out our contact form to get this party started. To move forward with an inquiry, we do ask that you provide not only your confirmed wedding date but the venue you have under contract. Reminder - I typically book 6-12 months in advance.

Step 3. Dream in Detail

Once I confirm your wedding date is as open as the western landscapes, the dreaming begins. First, I’ll kindly prompt you to fill out our questionnaire where we will gather more information on your color scheme, vision, budget, guest count, anticipated wedding party size, and basic floral wish list (bouquets, ceremony flowers, etc).

You may not have all the answers right now, and that’s okay. We’re not expecting you to! Just provide your best guess to get started! Also, if you’re using Pinterest, please be sure to add me to your board (or include a link), so I can see what flowers you’re falling in love with for your day.

Step 4. Custom Estimate, Check!

After reviewing your information, I’ll provide a custom proposal for your consideration. I typically offer one estimate with a basic visual proposal before booking with a one-week expiration. If necessary, we can make one revision before booking at no cost. Once accepted, I’ll provide a contract for review and retainer details to reserve your date and services. Curious about pricing? Check out this post.

Step 5. Make Me a Match

Yay! You want to work with Whirly Girl for your wedding. Return the signed contract and retainer to reserve your date. We’ll make time to chat, discuss options in detail, and nail down specifics. I’ll also provide a schedule so you know what to expect from Whirly Girl in the coming months to make your floral dreams come true.

Questions? I’d love to hear them. Use this form or shoot me an email.

Valentine's Day flowers for Sheridan

Meet the Ranunculus Club

Seven years ago, I brought a few bunches of ranunculus to my very first pop-up and 💥💃🏻! A love affair I never saw coming started in Sheridan, Wyoming. During the pandemic, a friend asked if I could get flowers, and before we knew it, I started a thing. Every spring, I source the best ranunculus I can find (USA-grown when possible), and that love affair with ranunculus continues.

The Details:

  • Review the schedule (see below)

  • Pick your dates and # of bunches

  • Prepay via Venmo or Quickbooks invoice

  • Pickup at my Sheridan Studio

  • Colors are first-come, first-served

I send out reminders to those who are signed up each week with pickup details and instructions. Each bunch comes from the farm and usually has 10 stems. They’re wrapped and ready to brighten your home or office. You can leave them as a large bunch in a vase or spread them out in several bud vases around the house - my personal favorite with a few for my bedside, bathroom counter, and desk.

This year, we’re kicking off the club with a very special Galentine’s event at Wyld Adventures with a group of incredible creatives. You can pick up your bunch of ranunculus (pre-order to guarantee availability), enjoy a BYOB, and browse all the goodies. You find thoughtfully sourced plants from the Green Buffalo and hand-crafted jewelry from B.Butterfield Metalworks, along with so many others. You can find all the details here and let us know you’re coming here.

Do you still have questions? I’m all ears, let’s chat! The only thing I love more than flowers is TALKING about flowers. Don’t be shy. 🥰😘😘 Want to join my favorite club?

June Local Bouquet - Styled Shoot

A Local Bouquet in June

When Abby Higgs Photography approached me for a simple styled shoot, I was excited to make a bouquet full of local beauty for their evening at the HF Bar Ranch in Saddlestring, WY. Our late start to Summer here in Sheridan left us with an abundance of peonies showing off, along with coral bells, ox-eye daisies, chamomile, and a few other little treasures I was able to pick from neighbors’ yards and local farms.

Growing flowers on a large scale in our climate is so difficult and I always jump at the chance to play with flowers grown so close to home.

A Secret Wedding in October

Bobbi & Max

Bobbi was a long-time Whirly Girl fan and attended several pop-ups and classes in the early years here in Sheridan. When she and Max decided to have a secret elopement in 2020 at their Wyoming ranch, Talking Waters, I was elated to make a simple bouquet and boutonniere for their moment together. She gave me full creative control, and I used some wild bittersweet vines, dried craspedia, and fresh roses for her bouquet.

Cassie Madden captured all the joy of the blustery day with their single witness and dear friend.

As I tell all my couples, your day is yours. Embrace it. Make it what you want it. Bobbi and Max embraced this, wearing outfits they pulled from their closets in the morning and got married in a place they loved with a friend to witness. No rules, just LOVE.

Congratulations!
