A Mountaintop Winter Wedding in Wyoming

Jewel-tone ~ Western ~ Vintage

These lovebirds planned a November wedding in the stunning Bighorn Mountains with jewel-toned colors in Navy, Burgundy, Olive Green, Taupe, and Gold at the charming Meadowlark Ski Lodge.

White Buffalo Photography captured all the love and details from their mountaintop ceremony to snowy portraits with their friends to their cozy lodge reception.

The bride dreamed of a bouquet that made a statement, and we delivered with the BIGGEST bouquet I’ve ever made. Enjoy the details of this winter wonderland wedding.

Their ceremony took place at the stunning top of the mountain with panoramic views of the Bighorn Mountains covered in fresh snow. Their guests and wedding party were up for the conditions and it was absolutely stunning. We let the view speak for itself and created a few large arrangements to welcome guests to the ceremony site.

Their reception took place in the charming lodge at Meadowlark Lake. We used simple bud vases for the guest tables mixed with pictures of them on adventures and I created a massive installation for the fireplace mantle to frame their sweetheart table.

Congratulations!

A Tensleep Wedding in September

Clarke & Laure

In the shadow of Wyoming's Bighorn Mountains, a special day unfolded for a couple from California who now reside in South Carolina. Their family's summer home provided the perfect backdrop for a simple, elegant wedding. They celebrated their roots with colors like navy blue and burgundy and a bouquet filled with dahlias and eucalyptus. Under a white tent at the Old Shell store, surrounded by loved ones, their love story began a new chapter. It was a day of joy, blending memories from two families into one beautiful moment, treasured by all who shared in their happiness.

Kaleigh Rust Photography captured all the love and sunshine for this September destination wedding in Tensleep, WY. Wild West Collective provided planning and rentals for their day with a reception hosted at the Old Shell Store.

Can we take a moment for this incredible bridal cape that Laure wore!!!!

Their mixed bridal party wore a combination of navy suits, and dresses in a burnt orange or navy depending on whose side they were standing on. 2023 was the year of mixed-gender wedding parties and I LOVED it.

The ceremony flowers were created with local choke-cherry branches loaded with cherries and leaves in perfectly burnished Fall colors, with amaranth and dahlias transported over the mountains from a local grower in Sheridan, WY.

These pieces were repurposed for the reception and enjoyed all evening!

Congratulations!

Sage & Burgundy Mountain Wedding

Magical ~ Foresty ~ Natural

Sara & Zach met in college, and eventually, the friendship built in those early years turned into something more. They were married at the top of the Bighorn Mountains, and their wedding was inspired by the forest and natural beauty of Wyoming, with colors in burgundy and sage green and pheasant feathers to accent their flowers.

Sheridan, WY wedding photographer Cassie Madden Photography captured all the gorgeous details and utter joy of their wedding.

Wyoming High Country Lodge provided the perfect space for their guests with rustic charm, views for days, and some moose that added extra excitement to their ceremony.

Keep scrolling for more of their magical day.

The bride wore a gorgeous dress with lace overlay from Belle en Blanc in Billings while her ladies each picked their favorite Birdygrey dress in burgundy. The groom and wedding party men sported classic black suits with burgundy ties and pocket squares.

Sara’s bouquet was filled with garden roses in ivory, burgundy, and blush, along with various eucalyptus, blooming calycina, and some wild burgundy amaranth from my garden. The couple provided me with feathers from their pheasant hunting adventures.

They opted for simple DIY centerpieces with floating candles in white placed on wood slices and surrounded by loose eucalyptus—the perfect, easy decor for this rustic location.

Congratulations!

A date to remember 2.22.22

These sweethearts have been together for 6 years and dreamed of a fall wedding to celebrate their love. Instead of waiting all year to make it official, they moved up their date to February 2022 and planned an intimate wedding with their family in Buffalo, WY. It dawned COLD (as in -20* cold) and they made the best of it with gorgeous pictures inside at their reception venue captured by Wyoming wedding photographer Cassie Madden Photography.

Hannah described her dream day as comfortable, romantic, and warm with colors in Eucalyptus Green, Rose Gold, and Burgundy.

When we talked about colors, I was hesitant to guarantee her dream palette of burgundy and green the week after Valentine’s Day. Sourcing flowers after any major flower-centric holiday is always difficult. Ultimately, I want a happy client with expectations that match what I can deliver

and we discussed a few different color palettes for their day. Thankfully, Hannah trusted me to pick the best options available on the day her flowers shipped and my supplier was able to help me pick the perfect stems to make her dreams come true. We used Hearts roses and Empress protea as the focal point of the design filled out with several types of eucalyptus, mini carnations, and ranunculus.

Hannah’s Maid-of-honor wore a long, velvet dress in Eucalyptus from Baltic Born. It was absolutely perfect for the chilly winter wedding in Wyoming.

An Ode to Burgundy & Blush

Perhaps the most enduring color palette of my 13 season wedding career, Burgundy (or merlot) and blush is the forever flexible color scheme that appeals to everyone. It can be rustic or country, classic and elegant while fitting nearly every single season. It might just be the unicorn wedding color palette to rival classic white.

Sometimes the design leans more towards blush and light tones with pops of color. Other times we go dark and highlight with brighter blooms. Often it’s paired with a shade of blue and you’ll find the funky, textural thistles in their starring role. From bouquets full of greenery to bouquets with minimal foliage you’ll find the full range.

Here are my favorites and how even when the request is the same, I keep things fresh, unique and customized to every couple I have the honor of creating flower magic for. Click the images to see accompanying blog posts.
