A Tensleep Wedding in September

Clarke & Laure

In the shadow of Wyoming's Bighorn Mountains, a special day unfolded for a couple from California who now reside in South Carolina. Their family's summer home provided the perfect backdrop for a simple, elegant wedding. They celebrated their roots with colors like navy blue and burgundy and a bouquet filled with dahlias and eucalyptus. Under a white tent at the Old Shell store, surrounded by loved ones, their love story began a new chapter. It was a day of joy, blending memories from two families into one beautiful moment, treasured by all who shared in their happiness.

Kaleigh Rust Photography captured all the love and sunshine for this September destination wedding in Tensleep, WY. Wild West Collective provided planning and rentals for their day with a reception hosted at the Old Shell Store.

Can we take a moment for this incredible bridal cape that Laure wore!!!!

Their mixed bridal party wore a combination of navy suits, and dresses in a burnt orange or navy depending on whose side they were standing on. 2023 was the year of mixed-gender wedding parties and I LOVED it.

The ceremony flowers were created with local choke-cherry branches loaded with cherries and leaves in perfectly burnished Fall colors, with amaranth and dahlias transported over the mountains from a local grower in Sheridan, WY.

These pieces were repurposed for the reception and enjoyed all evening!

Congratulations!

Prairie Inspired Jewel Toned Wedding

Nate & Sabre

In an elegant affair at the Brinton Museum near Sheridan, Wyoming, a paleontologist and museum curator say "I do," infusing their special day with the allure of prehistory. Amidst dinosaurs and prehistoric flora, guests find themselves in an inviting atmosphere where prairie-inspired jewel tones and earthy colors create a fun and enchanting ambiance. As the couple exchanged vows under a copper arch, towering trees, and amongst lush ferns, their love story unfolded in a celebration as timeless as the fossils.

Nathan Hans Films captured their day at The Brinton Museum with planning by Forever West Weddings and Events

Sabre found her dream dress at The Bridal Collection,  Denver, and her ladies wore Birdy Grey dresses in a color of their choice including sage green, terracotta, dusty blue, taupe, and rosewood.

Nate’s wedding party included his sister as Best Woman among his dearest friends. They wore dress pants in tan to brown tones with white shirts, suspenders in varied earth tones, and handmade bolo ties created by the groom.

We had a collection of prairie-inspired bud vases for their reception with simple flowers and grasses, potted plants with various ferns, succulents, and ancient Cycads. We used simple terracotta cylinder pots and gold dinosaur planters to honor their love for fossils. Sweet Tia’s made the most incredible macarons for their dessert table instead of cake!

Congratulations!

A Sunflower Wedding in White and Yellow

Cheery ~ Western-y ~ Bright

When a horse trainer calls for a vet to doctor some sick calves, it’s a love story for the books.

Rebecca and Brandt chose to say I do below the Bighorn Mountains at the Big Horn Equestrian Center near his childhood home, and their day was full of dramatic weather and the biggest smiles.

Forever West Weddings & Events coordinated an incredible group of vendors for this couple from California to make their destination wedding dreams come true.

Wyoming wedding photographer Cassie Madden captured everything from getting ready to smiles in the rain.

The groom and his men wore a classic western Canadian tuxedo and their cowboy hats with boots. The bride found her perfect dress at Miosa Bridal, a shop in Folsom, CA, and her ladies wore pale blue knee-length dresses.

The bride’s love of sunflowers directed our vision for the day and her flowers. We included locally grown Ox Eye Sunflowers (Heliopsis helianthoides) and white cosmos for a delicate, light feeling with plenty of movement.

They originally planned an outdoor ceremony on the expansive polo fields under an arch from Powder River Party Rentals with flowers and some calf roping pieces. Ultimately, the rain called for a change of plans, but we love these shots captured beforehand. The hanging arrangements did double duty for the day and were used as centerpieces under the tent for their reception.

The Cake Chic - Jaci Schmidt created custom cookies for each guest and a three-layer cake with a custom topper. The team from Shabby Shack crafted a beautiful meal and place settings under the tent for their reception.

Congratulations!

Sage & Burgundy Mountain Wedding

Magical ~ Foresty ~ Natural

Sara & Zach met in college, and eventually, the friendship built in those early years turned into something more. They were married at the top of the Bighorn Mountains, and their wedding was inspired by the forest and natural beauty of Wyoming, with colors in burgundy and sage green and pheasant feathers to accent their flowers.

Sheridan, WY wedding photographer Cassie Madden Photography captured all the gorgeous details and utter joy of their wedding.

Wyoming High Country Lodge provided the perfect space for their guests with rustic charm, views for days, and some moose that added extra excitement to their ceremony.

Keep scrolling for more of their magical day.

The bride wore a gorgeous dress with lace overlay from Belle en Blanc in Billings while her ladies each picked their favorite Birdygrey dress in burgundy. The groom and wedding party men sported classic black suits with burgundy ties and pocket squares.

Sara’s bouquet was filled with garden roses in ivory, burgundy, and blush, along with various eucalyptus, blooming calycina, and some wild burgundy amaranth from my garden. The couple provided me with feathers from their pheasant hunting adventures.

They opted for simple DIY centerpieces with floating candles in white placed on wood slices and surrounded by loose eucalyptus—the perfect, easy decor for this rustic location.

Congratulations!
